Take a walk through Second Ward through the eyes of local photographers Joe Robles, Mike Lazo and Katelynn Elizondo.

Join us for our closing show on Saturday February 11, 2023 from noon to midnight at local wine bar, “How To Survive On Land And Sea” in Second Ward. There will simultaneously be a family friendly community block party happening in the neighborhood. Come by for an eventful day of Art, Food, Music, Low-riders and an opportunity to support local artists and small businesses.

Each artist will be donating a percentage of sales to local non profit organizations Texas Environmental Justice Advocacy Service (TEJAS) and Ballet Folklorico Herencia Mexicana De Houston.

ALL PRINTS ARE BEING SOLD BY THE ARTISTS FOR $200.

KATELYNN ELIZONDO

Katelynn Elizondo is a student at the University of Houston and has a great passion for photography and capturing Houston’s culture through photography.

JOE ROBLES

Joe Robles is a photographer from Pasadena, TX. He documents the areas around Pasadena and Houston to bring light to the community and vast life of the city. From parties at Strawberry park, Lowrider shows and ballet folkloricos to his own life and the presence of his family within this region, Robles is interested in telling honest stories about the people in these areas.

Raquel Natalicchio is a photographer from Los Angeles, CA, now based in Houston, TX as a staff visual journalist for The Houston Chronicle. Raquel documents social issues, community driven stories, political mobilization and migration across the US/Mexico border. Her work focuses on the universality of humanity, including themes of love, struggle, resilience and community. Raquel is passionate about education and community building. She spent many years as a teaching artist for High School students and has produced talks, panel discussions and art exhibitions for the photographic community in Los Angeles, CA and now Houston, TX.

Raquel is a member of Women Photograph, Diversify Photo and The National Press Photographers Association.
